1. Log Setup
- Number your log on the cover
If this is your first log, enter “1”
If you already have five logs, enter “6” - On page 1, enter the date of the first concert in your log
- Add your name
2. Raw Details
- Go to the next RIGHT-HAND SIDE PAGE (odd numbered) and enter the performance date, venue name and town/ city
Always fill in the right-hand side/ page first.
- Enter the ensemble and the name of the person who booked you, along with their contact info. Also include the Conductor and any Soloists
- Next, write the instrument(s) you played, and your service.
Voluntary = you donated your time and expertise
Salaried = performing is part of your job
Additional = you don’t get paid to perform, but it’s expected (most full-time school music teachers)
$£ = enter the amount you were paid for this concert - List the repertoire you performed
If there is not enough room, list the repertoire that had the most impact on you. - Add the concert attire/ what you wore

- How did you feel this concert went?
3. Impact
- Go to the page on the LEFT of the same concert, and remember why you were excited to perform this concert
- Respond honestly to the next few questions
Be as specific as you can - Remember how you felt before and after the concert – how did sharing live music affect you emotionally?

4. Evaluation
For when your log is complete and you have recorded 30 concerts:
- First, make sure you have ordered your next Concert Log!

- Turn to the last pages in the log
- Consider each question carefully and be as short and as specific as you can when writing
- In order to get better as a performer, consider some behaviors or habits you want to “K.I.S.S.”!
